I have purchased a new 2011 GMC Sierra and have been reading a lot about extended drain oils. My vehicle recomends Dexos1 or an approved equivalent (Amsoil was not on the list). When looking at the list I chose Mobil 1 extended performance for my first oil change, but now that I see the data I believe I made the wrong decision. I will be switching both of my vihicles to Amsoil signiture series but am still concerned about my warranty on the 2011. Will Amsoil stand behind there product if I have a lubrication / warranty issue and the manufacture will not cover it due to your product not being an approved oil?

Woody,

Amsoil makes 3 different grades of synthetics starting with the OE line. Our XL line are designed to last 10,000 miles. Next our Signature Line is good for 25,000 miles and this is the oil I recommend you start with using our 0W-20. You will get excellent results with this product especially since you were a past user of Mobil 1. You will see a big difference once you switch. If you have any questions just give me a call.

I have been a MObil 1 user for years but with my recent purchase of a new Dodge Ram with the V6 I am considering Amzoil.
I am retired and want this truck to last.....it will see light service (hence the V6). I live in Florida so our temps are extreme.

I am considering the OE oil in a 5W20 or 5W30 weight.....
