If you are looking to start a business then understanding supply and demand will be critical to your success.  Presently less than 6% of the PCMO (passenger car motor oil) market is using synthetics lubricants.  This statistic tell us that there is an enormous amount of growth potential for Amsoil.

For years synthetic lubricants have enjoyed a reputation of quality and superior performance.  The advantage that Amsoil holds over every single competitor in the market is we boldly state our drain intervals right on our bottle.  Other than Mobil 1 there is no other oil company that does this.  And for the record, for those of you who don't know, Amsoil offers a 25,000 mile interval while Mobil 1 only offers a 15,000 mile interval.

What this means to you is simple, more and more people are searching out better products for their vehicles and what they are finding is Amsoil is the best out there.  The problem is, and this where the Supply side comes in, there simply are not enough Amsoil Dealers to handle the Demand. 

Starting a business is a big decision as it should be.  You are going to want to know the facts before making any investment.  Below are the programs that Amsoil allows Dealers to participate in to make money.  One program not included in this example is Amsoil's commission payouts.

 Personal Retail Sales (PRS)

As an AMSOIL Dealer, you purchase AMSOIL products at Dealer cost and then sell them at the suggested retail price.  Your income starts building immediately with retail profits and commission bonuses!  Some Dealers keep an inventory of products for their local retail customers, or simply place orders as necessary to service them.  These are typically friends, family, acquaintances, neighbors, etc.

Key Points

  • It's easy, Many Dealers start with the PRS Program as a means of "cutting their teeth" in learning to sell AMSOIL products.
  • Anyone not already using AMSOIL is a possible PRS candidate.
  • The market for PRS is huge!
  • PRS presents a great opportunity to learn about the entire AMSOIL product offering..
  • One person can only handle so many personal retail customers, however.  So savvy Dealers soon realize that while PRS are part of the AMSOIL program, there are additional avenues to building their business that must be pursued.

 
Catalog Customer (CR) Program

The purpose of the Catalog Customer (CR) Program is to provide the customer access to AMSOIL products.  The (CR) Program was designed for people who are interested in buying AMSOIL products, but who are not interested in a Dealership or for signing up for anything.

Dealers distribute AMSOIL catalogs, and AMSOIL, Inc. takes it from there.  AMSOIL takes the order, ships the product, bills the customer and collects the money.  The Dealers collect the retail profits and the commissions.  What could be simpler?

Key Points

  • This program is designed for the customer who just wants to buy product, and have it shipped directly to them.
  • It's perfect for acquired customers that are not located close to you and/or are willing to self-service themselves.
  • CR's may require assistance placing orders, or need personal visits, so email or telephone follow up is recommended.
  • Once a CR purchases $100 or more per year (watch your reports) they should be encouraged to become a Preferred Customer (PC) simply for the cost savings, and to get them the monthly AMSOIL Action News.

Preferred Customer (PC) Program

 Like the Catalog Customer Program, the Preferred Customer Program is for people who are not necessarily interested in the AMSOIL business opportunity, but who may be in the future.  Any customer who purchases $100.00 or more per year should be signed up as a PC.

Key Points

  • PC's receive a kit with instructions for purchasing, and get the monthly Action News, so they are kept up to date on AMSOIL products automatically.
  • PC's typically are "self-service" and will order what they need on their own
  • PC's still require follow up by the sponsoring Dealer to answer questions and to keep them using AMSOIL.
  • The PC Program exposes individuals to the AMSOIL Dealer business opportunity, and PC's have proven to be the best source for potential new AMSOIL Dealers.
  • PC's are easy to register on the spot.  All you need is their name, address, telephone number and $20.00.  When you get home you call AMSOIL directly and register them right over the phone.

 Amsoil Dealer (DLR) Program

 The Dealer Program is the basis of the AMSOIL opportunity.  It is designed for anyone initially interested in their own home based business, or that becomes interested in the business opportunity after experiencing the products through one of the other AMSOIL programs.

Key Points

  • It is your ultimate goal to establish independent businesses for other people
  • The Dealer Program is set up for sponsorship, and is the crux of the AMSOIL home-based business model
  • Dealers you sponsor deserve your support.  If you want t achieve success with your AMSOIL business, help your down line Dealers achieve success.
  • Plan to train your new Dealers on how to use the programs to build their own business.
  • Your support, direction and leadership helps them...and helps you.

 Commercial Account (CA) Program

 The Commercial Account (CA) Program was designed to help Dealers sell to all kinds of businesses, meaning end-user, that want to use AMSOIL products in their vehicles or equipment.  In short, it's for the AMSOIL Dealer that has decided to try their hand at a more "technical" sale.

Key Points

  • It can be as easy and simple as registering a flower shop owner with delivery cans, or as in depth as a sale to a small over the road trucking fleet.
  • It is highly recommended that the Dealer receive training beyond the G-700 Business Manual before pursuing this market.  It is also highly recommended that Dealers participate in AMSOIL U and take the home study courses as a minimum.
  • Working with an experienced AMSOIL Dealer is a great way to learn this part of the business.  AMSOIL's Commercial Accounts can generate a life long income.

 Retail-On-the-Shelf (ROTS) Program

Retail-On-the-Shelf Accounts are retail outlets such as auto parts, quick lubes and hardware and sporting goods stores.  These stores stock AMSOIL products on their shelves to sell to their customers.  The purpose of this program is for Dealers to generate income by making AMSOIL products available through these local resale outlets and service centers.

Key Points

  • This program makes AMSOIL products available to those customers that do not want to participate in one of our other programs or those that only want to have AMSOIL products installed for them (Quick Lube).
  • Retail Accounts are for those customers that purchase small quantities of AMSOIL products, under $100.00 per year, or that do not want to order direct, pay freight, or have products delivered to their homes.
  • Accounts that carry AMSOIL products increase the AMSOIL brand name awareness and provide the initial education of customers that may eventually move into one of our other programs for lower prices, access to the full line, the business opportunity, etc.
  • AMSOIL's Retail-On-The-Shelf Accounts are so profitable to AMSOIL Dealers that it is possible to make a high 4 or even 5-digit income from these types of accounts.

 Internet Business Model

 Some AMSOIL Dealers have enjoyed tremendous success by taking advantage of their computer skills.  The Internet is probably one of the most profitable business tools in use today.  Therefore, the AMSOIL Internet Business Model may be an effective way to help launch your future.

The Internet Business Model can provide a Dealer with certain advantages when it comes to reaching prospective customers.

Strengths

  • Minimal geographic restraints...you can reach many people over a large geographic area in a very short period of time
  • Questions can be responded to immediately
  • You can work from the convenience and comfort of your own home.
  • You can actively work anytime of the day or night.
  • You can be very creative.
  • It's a great Preferred Customer prospecting tool.

 Of course, with any business model, there are some drawbacks.  The Internet Business Model is not for everyone.  There are some challenges that Dealers can encounter if they rely exclusively on this business model.

Keys to Success

  • Learn to convert contacts or leads into customers (ROTS,CA,CR,PC) or Dealers via written communication. If you can't write well, this method is not for you, since this is not a face-to-face method.
  • Respond quickly to inquires from potential customers that contact you via the INTERNET. If you don't respond promptly, they will move on.
  • Send requested information and follow up on a continual basis-either on website management and control so that leads do not slip away.

    Trade Show Business Model

    Many of AMSOIL's most successful Dealers have reached their level of achievement by participating in trade shows.  Whether it's an automotive, recreational or industrial Trade Show, more and more AMSOIL Dealers are utilizing this model to expand their businesses.

    • This model can provide the opportunity for great face-to-face time with potential customers and future Dealers.
    • You have an audience (prospects) coming to you...the challenge is determining the most effective ways of capturing their business.
    • You can convey passions for the business, as well as the quality of the product, in this type of setting.
    • Generating 15-25 Commercial Accounts out of one 3-day show is not uncommon, and well worth your time and investment.
    • Depending on the type of Trade Show you can prospect for Commercial and ROTS Accounts, New Amsoil Dealers and Preferred Customers all at one location.

     As you can see Amsoil is a lot more then just buying some product at wholesale then selling it at retail to make a profit.  The profit potential from established Retail and Commercial Accounts can be enormous.  And remember Amsoil Inc. handles all the shipping and billing requirements.  All the potential headaches associated with any other type of business is eliminated.
